When building websites there are two main options: large content site or small mini-sites. Large content sites are normally more “information” focused. Mini-sites, however, normally have one purpose only, to sell.
Given what search engines want, large content sites are much better for getting search engine traffic. Most of the time (unless you’re excellent at optimizing), it’s hard to get mini-sites to rank well for competitive keywords.
This is why most do NOT rely on search engines for traffic to their mini-sites.
In all honesty, the best strategy is to combine the two types of sites by having a large content site to rank well with search engines that feeds traffic to your mini-sites.
However, not all of us have the time or know-how to easily build large sites that do well with search engines. Most of us just want to put up a small site and start making money.

How do you really make money blogging?
I see a ton of blogs everyday. Stats from Technorati show that over 81% of them are abandoned.
If those bloggers where making money blogging, do you think that the blogger would just leave that money on the table and walk away?
Not likely!
So what’s up? What’s the missing link?
They didn’t follow the formula. They didn’t implement the simple formula that I am going to show you below.
Make Money Blogging - 4 Step Formula
1. Research IT! - You have 2 choices here. Firstly, you must decide how you want this blog to make money. Do you want to sell advertising (like text links), or do you want to sell products (like digital ebooks & software from clickbank)?
If you decide to sell advertising, then research markets that have already proven that they want to buy advertising in that market. Look at big adsense earners. Look to see if there are a lot of advertisers advertising on Google Search with Adwords. Go to eZineArticles.com and type in your phrase. Click on an article and see if all the advertising blocks are filled up.
Once you determine that you have a topic that advertisers have proven that they want to pay money for, move on to the next step. Keep in mind that you, on most occasions, won’t be that “niched”. You want to attract the highest amount of advertisers that pay big money.
If you are going to sell products, then you want to be “niched” down. You’ll want to find a market that has a problem, where they are desperately looking for a solution. Check for keyword competition…And pick one.
2. Blog IT! Start blogging. If you are selling advertising space, you’ll want to blog either everyday or every other day. This doesn’t mean that you need to come up with that much content everyday on your own. 3 Ways To Make Money for 3 Different Social Classes

We always try and put everyone in the same bubble. The same “one size fits all” type of make money from home plan.
…But as we know, this is not the case and probably the reason we see so much failure in business, and especially home business.
If you really and truly don’t have a dime to spend, and are facing foreclosure, and bills are piling up, you can’t afford to buy a $997 product…then, turn around and try to find money to market your business.
You’re just being “raped” by the money-making industry. This is what “they” don’t tell you. Just because you buy the dream, it doesn’t mean that you will have the money left over to make the dream come true. So, then if you don’t have the money, you have to use your time.
How do you find the patience to use your time instead of money to market your business, because this where the real money is at anyway?
I don’t care who you are or what you do, if you don’t market well, you’ll be out of business really soon, or you’ll face mediocrity for the rest of your life. It’s just the nature of business.
…And if you’ve “got money” and are just not sure exactly what you want to do with it, but obviously would like to make a wise decision, but don’t want to wait for what can “seem” like forever to see returns, then you’re in a totally different bubble all together.
